YouTube has introduced a convenient new feature for podcasters, enabling them to upload episodes directly using their RSS feeds.
Here’s a streamlined guide to get started, based on Google’s instructions:
- Connecting Your RSS Feed to YouTube:
- Go to YouTube Studio and select ‘Create’, then ‘New podcast’, followed by ‘Submit RSS feed’.
- Agree to the RSS Ingestion Tool Terms of Service.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and click ‘Next’.
- Input your RSS feed URL and proceed to the next step.
- Click ‘Send code’ to verify your account, then enter the verification code received at your RSS feed’s email address. If unsure of the email, contact your hosting provider.
- Selecting Episodes for Upload:
- Choose the episodes you wish to upload. Options include all existing episodes, episodes since a specific date, or only future episodes.
- Confirm visibility details and save your choices.
- Publishing Your Feed:
- To publish, navigate to ‘Content’ and then ‘Podcasts’ in YouTube Studio.
- Find the ‘Publish’ button next to your podcast feed under “Video count”. This appears once the episodes are fully uploaded.
Additionally, the tool offers functionality to re-upload episodes, edit podcast details, and disconnect an RSS feed from the YouTube podcast.
