Google has unveiled new generative AI elements for its Chrome web browser app, aiming to provide automated assistance and artistic inspiration to users.
One of the additions is the expansion of the generative AI wallpaper option, allowing users to create custom backgrounds. This feature will be accessible through the “Customize Chrome” side panel, where users can select “Change theme” and then “Create with AI” to enter a text prompt and generate a unique background for Chrome. In addition, Google is introducing a writing assistant within Chrome to assist users in formulating better queries and posts. This feature is particularly useful for multitasking individuals, such as those planning trips, researching topics, or shopping.
These new features demonstrate practical applications of generative AI and highlight Google’s cautious approach to its AI rollout. Rather than rushing into broad implementations, Google is focusing on refining and enhancing its core tools to ensure a seamless user experience.
By incorporating smaller tweaks and updates, Google aims to solidify its AI capabilities while avoiding potential issues that may arise from hasty deployments.
